Start with ART

Ages 4–6

In Start with Art, the accompanying tutor serves as a helper, providing warm encouragement while your child makes art and has a lot of fun! Your little one will create magical proj­ects by following clear step-by-step directions and making the creative decisions all artists make.

DRAWING BETTER

Ages 8–12

This class builds in age-appropriate drawing lessons on composition, line, shape, form and shading, while including lots of drawing from imagination, drawing games and exer­cises.

CARTOONING

Ages 8–12

Learn to create engaging original characters, in a setting of your own design with a story to tell. Students build illustration skills while using their imaginations in a relaxing, creative environment.

PAINTING STUDIO

ages 9–13

Create observational and expressive paintings in watercolor, acrylic and gouache, while exploring the subject matter, styles and techniques that speak to you.

OBSERVATIONAL DRAWING & WATERCOLOR SKETCHES: INSPIRED BY NATURE

ages 14–18

Using the grounds of the Art Palette Gallery as your inspiration and with solid observational drawing lessons, you will truly see, draw and paint natural beauty. Excellent for anyone interested in illustration.

BEGINNING DRAWING

Learn to draw what you see—in the museum and in the studio—with accuracy of scale, form, proportion and per­spective. The class is taught with fun exercises, patient instruction, and individual coaching. You’ll gain confidence through observation and practice.

DRAWING

Take your existing drawing skills further, faster with indi­vidual coaching, concise and practical instruction on con­tent, composition and style, and lots of drawing challenges and inspirations.

FIGURE DRAWING

Learn about drawing as an investigation and exploration through gesture, sighting, perspective, value and percep­tion. This class uses a live professional model.
